So kaz814 and I decided to design and begin another RPG. It's something we'd been discussing for a while, and I'm excited about it. It's post Deathly Hallows, and right now, most of the characters are open. If you've never RP'd before, but write, you should really give it a try. It's really addicting and fun. It's 2000, nearly two years after Harry Potter has defeated Lord Voldemort. Hogwarts is being rebuilt, the Ministry is sanctioning a memorial for those who lost their lives, and Kingsley Shacklebolt is restructuring the Ministry. However, things have not quite returned to normal, and so tension remains high. People associated with Lord Voldemort have been tried and either imprisoned or acquitted. In the political vacuum left by the overthrow of the Death Eaters, several new groups have emerged. The question of whether Muggles could have aided in the war against Voldemort has been brought up and some believe that the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy of 1692 is outdated and part of a bygone era that no longer has relevance. Others believe that keeping the secret of wizardry from the Muggles is the only way to prevent a reoccurence of the witch trials of so long ago. The divisions in wizarding society that so many thought would disappear with Voldemort's death are only deepening during these, The Hollow Years.

The Hollow Years is a Trio-Era Harry Potter RPG, where all pre-epilogue canon (including facts from JK's interviews) is honored.

You know, I'd been waiting for that to be dropped for some time now. How did I miss that revelation? Somehow, I knew he wouldn't end up with Pansy (and am quite glad for that, as well.) Now I wont to know more about Astoria Greengrass. Interesting, very interesting.

The Dark Lord Voldemort's rise to power has been whispered of in shadows and dark corners. Now he has gathered his faithful and is tired of biding his time. He will be great, he will be immortal. It is only a matter of time.

Or is it?

farfromgracerpg is an alternate universe Harry Potter Marauders Era Role Playing Game that will begin November 15, 2007 and will start in-game on November 15, 1978. Everything up to that point in canon will remain the same; anything beyond that is up for discussion. It begins with the death of James Potter at the hands of Peter Pettigrew and explores how the world changes for his loved ones, friends, and enemies. It is a game intended for serious players interested in strong characterizations and character development, as well as involvement in plotting and story-lines. RPs are done through IM or googledocs, with the logs posted to the community.



It's going to be really cool, with a few really great writers, like my friends kaz814 and ink_addict. If you are into roleplaying, you should check it out. We need some big names, like Remus, Peter, the Longbottoms, and many, many other characters.

So because RL swept me away for a few months, I lost my old claims table for 100quills. However, because DH opened up so many doors when it comes to the Snape/Lily relationship, I claimed another one. I'll be posting Snape/Lily ficlets shortly, so look out for them.

It's less than two and a half hours until I go to pick up my copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Though I have read the epilogue (I so cannot resist temptation put before me...I'm a horrible snoop), I am extremely excited to journey with my favorite characters until the end of their adventure. It's bittersweet, really. Thank goodness that the fandom will keep going, or I don't know how I'd get my fix.

I'm looking forward to many questions being answered, but really, leaving some to dwell upon is even better. Until JK comes out with her encyclopedic guide to the Potterverse, I think it will be interesting to read the new theories, questions, and ships that come out of book seven.

I've never actually cried while reading one of the HP books before, but I think it's very possible that I might with this one, just because I know there will be no more books to come. :(

Still, it's going to be a blast talking about everything at Prophecy. Summer '07 is the Summer of Potter.

Where has this been all of my life?

If I look at it much longer, I'm going to have to give up eating for a year! So many cool finds!

How many of you have dreampt something only to relive the moment later? Today I had deja vu, only it wasn't just a familiar feeling. I specifically remember having dreampt that entire moment.

In other news, I'm absolutely freezing. WHY or WHY did it for from seventy degrees to thirty degrees in less than a day??!

So I was watching Rome on HBO, and I started to wonder about the characters' backgrounds and how much of it had been falsified, so I decided to do a little research. On Wikipedia. This turned out to be a bad but extremely amusing decision.

I was clicking on various names, and finally went with Augustus Ceasar (randomneses, it's Mr. Bingley!) Anyhow, I was reading along and came upon this here:

The following year, 46 BC, she consented for him to join Caesar in Hispania, where he planned to fight the forces of Pompey, but he fell ill and was unable to travel. When he had recovered, he sailed to the front, but was shipwrecked; after coming ashore with a handful of ugly fat ass hookers, he made it across hostile territory to Caesar's camp, which impressed his great-uncle considerably. Caesar and Octavius returned home in the same carriage, and Caesar secretly changed his will to include Octavius as the prime beneficiary he did this because octavius had hot love with his own uncle.

Obviously someone was having fun with the edit button. It made me laugh, but I sort of feel bad for the person who took the time to write the entry out in the first place. Oh, Wikipedia, thank you for the entertainment.
